Clinical Psychologist in Adelaide

A clinical psychologist with Rose Park Psychology can produce a treatment program, tailored for you, founded on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy, or other evidence-based interventions. A clinical psychologist can work with you, your doctor, and/or your psychiatrist, to produce the best possible outcomes.

A clinical psychologist has been endorsed by APRA as a clinical psychologist. They obtain a Masters or Ph.D qualification in clinical psychology, and must then do two years of supervised practice, to be endorsed as a clinical psychologist. After endorsement, they do more training and supervision in clinical psychology than registered psychologists. Clinical psychologists tend to see people with more serious symptoms of anxiety, depression, or other mental health disorders.

You can go to your GP and ask to be assessed to see if you are eligible for a mental health care plan to see a clinical psychologist. You can be eligible for up to 10 sessions per calendar year, starting with a referral for six sessions. GPs prefer that you book an extended appointment. Let the GP receptionist know that this is what you would like to come in for so that a session of an appropriate length can be arranged.

The following problems are covered by Medicare:
