Jo England - Psychologist

Jo England
Jo is a Generalist Psychologist who has completed an extra three year clinical training from the Department of Psychiatry, Westmead Hospital, and is a Level 2 AEDP therapist. Jo provides a trauma informed therapy for adults over 18 years of age providing support for panic, anxiety, depression, complex grief and trauma.

Jo brings these skills to her work as a generalist psychologist working in mental health. Jo provides a trauma informed therapy for adults over 18 of age providing support for panic anxiety, depression, complex grief and most forms of trauma.

She began working in private practice 23 years ago collaborating with General Practice using the skills from CBT, mindful body work, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Jo also uses attachment and mentalisation therapy, and trauma informed experiential psychotherapy.

Jo describes herself as a relational psychotherapist who believes that our style of attachment and patterns in relationships create both personal empowerment and troubling conditions such as depression and anxiety. In her therapy, you can identify patterns of coping which are less useful in your present day life, and form new ways of being with others.

During a recent stay in the United Kingdom Jo worked as a Chartered Psychologist and a consultant with a Neuro Rehabilitation clinic. Jo provided treatment to improve people’s mood and relationships after a life changing Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). As part of this work Jo began training and supervision for the condition of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). She maintains her supervision with a clinical specialist at St Georges Hospital and can see mild to moderate cases of FND in collaboration with Neuropsychiatry and General Practice.

She is able to take clients with WorkCover claims

Jo has some after hours appointments available for her clients.
