Shannai Sloan

Shannai is a registered provisional psychologist who has a strong interest with working with children and adolescents. By using a fun and non-judgmental approach to therapy, Shannai is able to connect with clients and ensure therapy is a stress-free environment where the client feels safe and accepted. She brings a warm and positive approach to her work and uses clients’ interests to ensure therapy is relevant and enjoyable for them.

Whilst completing her studies, she has spent her time gaining experience in the field. For over two years Shannai has been working with individuals with additional needs in schools and has experience working with a range of different disabilities. Shannai has experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (and PDA), ADHD, Down Syndrome, Developmental Delays, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disabilities within the NDIS as well as children with a trauma background.

Shannai has an interest in working with individuals who are on the spectrum as well as other Neurodiverse clients. Shannai sees neurological differences as normal variations within individuals and follows a Neurodivergent approach to therapy. By using this approach, she works with clients to find their strengths in order to help them achieve their goals and work through any challenges they may face. Shannai is dedicated to delivering an evidence-based approach, working with both clients and their families to ensure their goals are met.

Outside of work Shannai loves going to the gym, snuggling with her cat, Gucci, and spending time outside in the sun.

Shannai also spends time at our sister practice Westbourne Park, where she provides psychoeducational assessments. By working with both the individual’s family and school, she can provide support for individuals with learning difficulties or gifted individuals.
