Dr Nicole Manktelow
Dr Nicole Manktelow is a clinical psychologist with an interest in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders and personality disorders.
Nicole has over 22-years of clinical experience and has worked in a variety of mental health settings including public hospitals, corrective services, non-government organisations and private practice (young people and adults) with a particular interest and experience working with teenagers and their families.
Areas of Practice:
Nicole enjoys working with adolescents, and their families. She has a number of years working in adolescent mental health services. Nicole is experienced in working with adolescents who are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, and has been trained at Westmead children’s hospital in family-based interventions for eating disorders. She also assists young people struggling with perfectionism and procrastination in achieving their goals.
Individual Therapy (Adults)
Nicole is experienced in working with adults from a diverse range of backgrounds in an individual capacity and is skilled at working with a wide variety of presenting problems and takes a special interest in treating trauma and complex post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, and eating disorders.
Nicole uses a variety of techniques in therapy, trying to find what will work best for the people who come to see her. Nicole applies a range of evidenced based treatments that are grounded in scientific research, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectic Behaviour Therapy and is an internationally accredited advanced schema therapist. Nicole also draws on trauma-informed and attachment-based theory in her practice and works collaboratively with her clients and their families when appropriate in order to meet their therapy goals.
Qualifications and Memberships
Dr Manktelow completed a Doctor of Psychology in clinical psychology in the area of ethical practice and holds full endorsements as a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and she is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) College of Clinical Psychologists.
