Paul is a Counselling Psychologist with a Masters in Psychology and 16 years’ experience in private sectors, training, health, organizational and tertiary education.

 

He works with a diverse population and can establish immediate rapport and solid therapeutic relationships with people from all walks of life, culture or background. Paul’s therapeutic strengths include his highly relatable interpersonal style, a pragmatic and logical problem-solving approach and his realistic, goal-oriented processes which facilitates empowerment and symptom relief.  His therapeutic underpinning, that individuals are responsible for their actions and behaviour, since these result from the choices we make, manifests in his preferred therapeutic approach: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Paul’s extensive work in private hospital and psychiatric sectors has led to a passion for the treatment of Trauma/PTSD, Grief and Bereavement, Anxiety and Depression. Paul provides relationship therapy based on the  goals of the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, focussing on disarming conflict; increasing intimacy, respect, and affection; removing barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and creating heightened empathy and understanding in the context of the relationship.
