Katherine Hunt is a registered clinical psychologist and Medicare provider of psychological therapy with over 20 years of experience. She sees both adult clients and young people between the ages 12-18 years.

 

Katherine is proficient at treating a wide range of psychological issues, including anxiety-based conditions (phobias, OCD, panic, generalised worry), depression, interpersonal difficulties, emotional dysregulation, sleep dysfunction, and disordered eating patterns. Her flexible, respectful and contemporary approach facilitates good working relationships with her clients, and their retention in therapy. She places great importance on furthering her knowledge and counselling skills by participating in regular professional development activities.

Katherine has a special interest in trauma and perinatal psychology.  In building her clinical knowledge of these areas, she is accredited in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for trauma, and had a Postgraduate Certificate in Perinatal Mental Health and parent-infant psychotherapy training.

Lastly, Katherine understands first-hand the importance of finding a meaningful balance in life across the key areas of work/achievement-based tasks, pleasure, and rest. She is a strong advocate of practicing self-compassion and radical acceptance, as well as helping clients to master the art of living presently, non-judgementally and with gratitude.
