Deborah Lawton

Deborah Lawton is the principal psychologist of Rose Park Psychology.

She has a broad life experience, and professional experience in the practice of psychology. Generally, she takes a Cognitice-Behavioural approach, although she draws from a wide experience of other methodologies.

She works with adults with a wide range of personal issues and psychological disorders. She works with individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, and panic attacks.

Deborah is a fellow of the Institute of Privately Practising Psychologists. She played an important role as a member of a key WorkCover committee that drew up current guidelines for the management of workers with work-related stress.

She has worked with many organisations within early intervention and EAP programs to assist employees with solving problems. She is comfortabl dealing with work stress, WorkCover claims and employee assitance counselling.

She enjoys and has developed expertise in the treatment of people who have been involved in accidents and trauma. She uses EMDR in the context of standard cognitive behavioural interventions for the treatment of anxiety.

She undertakes medico-legal assessments in the area of personal injury, and has expertise in the dignosis of DSM IV mental disorders and in the field of physical and psychological impairment, and the assessment of the ability to qork.

She has an interest in health psychology and lifestyle counselling, and uses biofeedback to illustrate the impact of stress and self-talk on the body.
